get active!

Welcome

Many Animal Rights Groups often campaign on local and national issues. They hold stalls and demonstrations locally and visit other demos thoughout the UK. Becoming active means taking part, however you want to. It's your decision.

Things you can do

Go and meet them!
.either at demos, or go to one of their meetings.

Go vegetarian, or vegan
These diets are healthier than a traditional diet with the added bonus of reducing your resource use and lessening your contribution to animal and human cruelty and damage to the environment.

Donate!
It's a fact! Campaign groups need money to keep up their work. Every little helps. Ideally, they would like you to join and provide that way, but they always welcome a small donation, or even set up a standing order.

Write letters
From time to time they will post example letters to send to MSPs, MPs and other subjects of campaigns. However, we urge you not to simply 'copy and paste' the content of these example letters, but to read them and send a version of your own covering the main points in your own way. If you are not a constituent, or you send a "copied and pasted" form letter, or fax, this will no doubt go straight into the parliamentary bin. You'll simply have used up a few sheets of tax-funded fax paper, and irritated an underpaid secretary or researcher.

Buy our stuff!
Show you support their organisation by wearing their t-shirts, or trying other products. Not only will you look ultra-hip and cool and show your affiliation with your chosen animal rights group, but you'll be spreading the word too!
